Arcade Tove는 서울 광화문 한국프레스센터 지하 1층 아케이드에 위치한 새로운 유형의 티룸 공간입니다.
프레스센터는 1976년 준공 이후 광화문의 상징적 건축물로 기능해왔으며, 고유한 구조미와 시간의 층위를 지닌 장소입니다.
이 역사적 맥락과 오래된 멋을 배경으로 토오베가 자연스럽게 위치할 수 있는 방식으로 접근했습니다.
기존의 아케이드 골조와 바닥 패턴을 따라 들어가면, 현대적으로 해석된 찻집 공간을 마주하게 됩니다.
Arcade tove만의 독립적인 정체성을 드러내기 위해 재료의 투명하고 반사성있는 물성과 색감에 집중하였습니다.
통유리 파사드는 외부와 내부를 자연스럽게 연결하며, 안으로 들어서면 나무와 유리의 마감으로 반사되는 소재들이 어우러져 조화로운 공간을 만들어져 있고,
바닥에 배치된 빨간 카페트는 기존 오랜된 건물의 모습과 클래식하면서 세련된 이미지가 공존할 수 있게 하였습니다.
특히 내부로 들어서면 마주하게 되는 유리부스의 공간에서는 차를 내리는 퍼포먼스를 볼 수 있게하여 고객과의 시각적 소통이 가능하게 하였습니다.

Arcade Tove is a new type of tea room located in the B1 arcade of the Korea Press Center in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.
The Press Center has functioned as an iconic architectural landmark in Gwanghwamun since its completion in 1976, and it is a place with a unique structural beauty and layered sense of time.
Based on this historical context and its aged charm, we approached the design in a way that allows Tove to naturally settle into the space.
As you follow the existing arcade framework and floor patterns, you are led into a tea room space that has been interpreted in a modern way.
To express Arcade Tove’s own independent identity, we focused on transparent and reflective material properties and color tones.
The full-height glass façade naturally connects the exterior and the interior, and upon entering, the reflective surfaces finished in wood and glass come together to create a harmonious space.
The red carpet placed on the floor allows the old character of the building and a classic yet refined image to coexist.
In particular, once inside, you encounter a glass booth where the performance of brewing tea can be observed, allowing for visual interaction with the customer.
